Mission & goals

Reducing suffering. Building capacity. Leaving care behind.

FARVets plans, organizes, and implements clinics to assist animal welfare groups in the US and abroad. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, we address overpopulation issues, educate about pet health and wellness and the human/animal bond, and provide a meaningful international experience for veterinary students.

Our mission

Everything FARVets does is aimed at one outcome: healthier animals and stronger communities — through sterilization, wellness, and education that lasts.

We believe that sterilization is prevention, that wellness care is dignity, and that education is the only way to make either one last. Every program we design is built around those three pillars.

We also believe that the best aid is collaborative. FARVets does not fly in, operate, and leave. We partner with local shelters, universities, municipalities, and community leaders so the knowledge, equipment, and relationships stay where they belong.

Our vision

A world where every animal has access to compassionate veterinary care, and every community has the knowledge and resources to sustain it.

Goals & commitments

What we are working toward.

Partner for change

Collaborate and partner with grassroots animal welfare organizations abroad and domestic to address companion animal overpopulation through sterilization clinics.

Care for communities

Provide people in underserved communities with veterinary care for their pets while embracing the human-animal bond.

Raise awareness

Increase awareness of canine and feline health issues among local citizens and pet owners.

Build student skills

Nurture confidence and hands-on skill in clinical procedures and surgery for student participants.

Learn across borders

Give veterinary students an international service-learning experience that builds clinical skills, cultural understanding, and lifelong confidence as global caregivers.

Empower local partners

Train local animal welfare organizations and local veterinarians in the places we visit so they can continue addressing animal welfare and overpopulation issues in their own communities, at home and abroad.
